Hello!! That makes me SO SO happy to hear <3 <3 <3
And thank you so much for supporting the Kickstarter!! Honestly the best thing for now is to just spread the word as much as possible and try to get it funded! I know we have a long ways to go, but the magazine definitely relies on it, so anything you can do to let people know how important it is would be super helpful <3
Oh, and here’s a link for anyone who hasn’t checked it out yet! Sparkler is doing its annual Kickstarter to raise funds for the coming year. There’s a ton of amazing comics and creators hosted by Sparkler, and lots of neat stuff you can get through the Kickstarter (on top of hundreds of pages of comics).
Signal boosts are very appreciated!

I forgot I made this!
Yellow Hearts is a dark fantasy comic about demons, wishes, mystery, and queer found family!
Please check it out on Sparkler Monthly if you like any of those things // It also has witches, good kissing, adventure, cows, and some nice autumn trees //

Hey friends! July Sketchbook is up on Patreon! It’s just $2 a month for patrons~
There’s been a lot of talk lately on Twitter about small pledges and how they really make the backbone of a lot of artists’ careers, and I just want to add that I absolutely agree! Don’t feel like you’re being cheap or anything like that if all you can do to support an artist is a couple of dollars a month. For reference, if even a quarter of my followers pledged a dollar a month, I would be able to do comics full time AND be able to sleep at night instead of constantly worrying about money. (Happy, healthy artists make better art!) Those pledges definitely count.
For my Patreon, $2 will get you a ton of stuff (monthly sketchbooks, access to all my WIPs and process posts, occasionally tutorials, and a side bonus of email notification when I update my comics or share news about new projects). It also gives you a direct line to me if you have any questions or requests for tutorials and that sort of thing, which is nice since Tumblr’s messaging and commenting system is terrrrrible.
Anyway, thank you so, so much for everything you’ve done to support me so far, whether it’s reblogging/retweeting, buying my work at conventions or on Inprnt, or supporting me on Patreon. I just wanted to make sure you all know how much those $2 pledges mean to me, and reiterate that they really do make a difference!
“Blue is having a hard time moving on. He’s in love with his best friend. He’s also dead. Luckily, Hamal can see ghosts, leaving Blue free to haunt him to his heart’s content. But something eerie is happening in town, leaving the local afterlife unsettled, and when Blue realizes Hamal’s strange ability may be putting him in danger, Blue has to find a way to protect him, even if it means… leaving him.”
Taproot preview! There will be text, obviously, but here the first few pages of the comic as it will appear on shelves in September! (You might have caught Taproot a few years back when it was a webcomic–the new version is fully redrawn and 40 pages longer.) If you’re not sure if your local shop will have it, you can always go in and ask them to order it–in fact, it’s a really good idea, since it helps shops gauge interest. It’s also available for preorder at all of these stores.
I’ll also have it at Flamecon and Rose City Comiccon coming up in the next month or so, so if you’ll be at either of those conventions you’ll be able to get an early copy <3
a;lskdjf thank you so much! I’m so glad they’re bringing you happiness <3 <3
This review is so lovely <3
(P.s. I’ll have Taproots at Flamecon and Rose City Comiccon, so if you’re attending you can get one a little earlier than official release!)
Hey friends! If you’ve ever wanted a commission from me but I didn’t have slots open, here’s your chance! I’m offering a commission tier through Sparkler Monthly’s year 5 Kickstarter.
You’ll get a commission from me, plus a ton of other stuff:

And also the satisfaction of knowing you’re helping fund a really amazing group of (mostly) nonbinary and female comic artists, writers, and editorial perspectives. Including my comic, Yellow Hearts!
